X-MEN Trilogy

SPOILER ALERT

In the past couple of days I have watched all 3 X-Men movies and I have to say, for not being a big "comic book film" fan, these were really quite good. My favorite of the three is X-Men 2, if only because it was more of an ensemble film instead of a "let's-focus-on-one-character" X-Men movie. The first movie was really about Rogue, and 3 was really about Jean. Two really showed how all of the mutants worked together, and I loved the scene where Wolverine fought with the Asian catwoman. I wasn't crazy about Famke Jannsen until I saw X-Men 2, and today's viewing of X-Men 3 made me go back to not thinking she was all that great again. Oh well- she'll always be Nip/Tuck's Ava in my book.

The first one was good, introducing all of the characters and their abilities, and the story was interesting. The third one was good with some exciting scenes, especially the Wolverine vs. grow-back man. Funny funny funny. Two, on the other hand, had lots of humor and suspense and Mystique had a fantastic part- and I love Mystique. In 3 she had only a small role and that was disappointing. But overall they were all really good.

The one thing about 2 that bothered me, though, was the fact that their biggest threat (and what killed Jean) was water and they never bothered to use "Ice-Man" or his abilities to save themselves. Am I the only one who saw that? Perhaps they would say that his abilities were not strong enough, but I don't know if I buy that. He was there and there was no reason why they couldn't have done that.

No fantastic acting, no special thought provoking messages, just great popcorn value. Good movies.

This is a picture of me with my friend Gladys from my Greek and Roman Humanities Class last Fall. We graduated last Saturday.

I love how the "Restrooms" sign seems to be pointing right at my hat. Thanks a lot!
